orientations on the first and third Saturday of each month at 2:00 p.m., and on the second Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. In addition, the following people are also administering re-orientations, and will be available after club matches: J. L. Squires, Jr., Leroy Squires, Rex Gismond, Mark Boeckman, Pat Holsted (at noon following the monthly IDPA matches), Paul Stiedle, Larry Morgan, John Watkins, and Bill Morris.
To make arrangements for retaking the safety orientation at some other time, contact James Squires at 847-2147.

Please Observe All Range Rules
We'd like to remind club members not to move target stands closer to the sheds or pads. All target stands must be placed directly in front of a designated berm or backstop. Failure to comply with this rule, or any other range rule, may result in revocation of your membership.
Also, if you decide to burn trash in the barrels on the range, please check first to make sure a state, county or local burn ban is not in effect.

Range and Match News
We'd like to thank Chuck Anderson, who has volunteered to be the Youth Program director for the Benton Gun Club. If you have any questions for Chuck, or if you'd like to help him with development of our youth programs, please give him a call at 602-2971.
In other range news, please be aware that the lock on the front of the new gate (i.e., the lock on the street side) does not work. Use the lock on the other end of the gate to enter the range.
Finally, the 2006 match schedule was voted on and approved at the November meeting. The schedule will be mailed to all club members with the next issue of the newsletter. That also means that the next issue will be delivered via regular mail. There will be no e-mail delivery of the newsletter in December.

BGC Festival Planned
A motion was approved at the November meeting to host a Benton Gun Club Festival on Saturday, April 29, 2006. This event will be open to the public and will promote all matches and shooting disciplines. Club members will provide the guns and targets, and we hope to obtain donations for all the ammunition. The first planning session will be held in December or January. Further details will be announced at the club meetings and in the newsletter.
Of course, this event won't be a success without help from you. If you would like to volunteer, please contact one of the club officers at the numbers shown below.

2006 Meeting Venue Chosen
As we do every year at the November meeting, we entertained motions on where to hold the club meetings in 2006. A motion was made and passed to continue having the meetings at the Ramada Inn. Out thanks to the Ramada Inn management and staff for providing a great place to hold our meetings.

Safety Re-Orientations Required
As mentioned previously, the club is requiring all members to go through the safety orientation again. The range has changed a lot in the years since the orientation sessions were begun, and it was felt that everyone could use a refresher.
The re-orientation will be required for all members who were in the club as of May 2005. (Any members who joined after that have already received an updated version of the orientation.) Members will have until the end of 2006 to retake it.
