Range and Match News Frank Bray made a motion to obtain funds to cover some of the expenses for the smallbore silhouette regional match, coming up on March 18. The requested total is $1,200.00, which breaks down to $400.00 for food, $200.00 to the NRA, $300.00 for awards, $250.00 for target setters, and $50.00 for statistics. This motion was passed, but because it exceeds $1,000.00, it must be confirmed by a second vote at the February meeting. Please make a note to attend. Another motion was made to cover up to $1,000 in expenses related to promoting the September smallbore silhouette state championship. Each year the match directors attend the SHOT show to promote the match and obtain sponsors. This trip has previously been paid for out their own pockets. This motion was approved and takes effect immediately. Finally, a motion was made and passed at the January meeting to re-grade part of range 2, the smallbore silhouette range. The work is needed to get rid of some standing water and to keep the culvert from filling up with silt. The cost will be no more than $600.00. Oh, and thanks to Bill Morris, Jim Wood and Rex Gismond for replacing the center posts on the 100-yard target boards on upper range 1. Match Directors, the 2006 plaques are in the shed. Please takes only as many as you need. If you have any leftover plaques, please turn them in so we can have them updated.
A Note from the President I wish to express a special thank you to the club members who donated their time, talents, and tools to erect the plinking range this past year. As with any list I am sure to leave someone's name off and if I do, please forgive me. Bill Morris, Bill Duncan, Steve Ashley, Bill Harris, Jim Wood, Rex Gismond, Gerald Kitchen, George Craig, Pat Holsted, Leroy Squires, James Squires, Larry Morgan and Dr. John Watkins. Thank you, guys, for a great plinking range. Touché for a job well done. I would also like to thank those "ghost" members that take care of the range in between work days by changing target boards, repairing target stands, burning trash, etc. We never see you, but we know you have been there. Thanks. --Paul Stiedle.
