Range and Match News Last month, a motion was approved to purchase two new timers for the IDPA and speed steel matches, at a cost not to exceed $300.00. After some research, Pat Holsted learned that we could get a total of three timers for an additional $39.00. He made a motion to allocate the additional $39.00 to purchase the extra timer. The motion was seconded and passed. In other news, we will be focusing on finally getting the youth program up and running this year. There has been a delay and getting this program going since it was originally approved by the membership, but the club remains committed to promoting the shooting sports to our young people. Also, Rex Gismond made a motion to obtain bids to construct the shed for the new plinking range. The idea is to get that range up and running as soon as possible so that our members always have a place to shoot, regardless of the match schedule. The motion was seconded and passed. And finally, Paul Stiedle made a motion to waive match fees for match directors, as a token of appreciation for all of the hard work they do. The motion was seconded and passed.
Please Observe All Range Rules We'd like to remind club members not to move target stands closer to the sheds or pads. All target stands must be placed directly in front of a designated berm or backstop. Failure to comply with this rule, or any other range rule, may result in revocation of your membership.
Membership Renewals If the label on this newsletter has an "05" after your name, the club has received your 2005 renewal form, and your new gate key and membership card will be mailed on February 7, 2005. (The 2005 keys will have green paint on one side.) Please note that the locks will be changed on February 14, 2005. If the label on this newsletter has an "04" after your name, then this will be your last issue of the newsletter. An "04" means the club has not received your renewal form for 2005 and your membership grace period will expire on February 14, 2005. Your current key will no longer work after that date. If your label has an "04s" after your name then you have not taken the range and safety orientation. Contact James Squires at (501) 847-2147 to set up a time and date. If you need a 2005 renewal form, leave your name on the club recorder at 501-315-3071.
