Bylaws Meeting In The Works
We will be holding a meeting sometime in the spring, to consider possible changes to the club bylaws. If you have ideas or suggestions, we'd like to hear about them. New Members
We welcomed thirteen new members at the January meeting. They are Brian Crabtree, Loenard Davidson, Jerry Giddings, Gary Lively, James Naylor, Brandon Olvey, Ray Roberts, Brian Rogers, Billy Spann, P. J. Spaul, Del Southard, Tim Ward, and Steve Young. Glad to have you with us, gentlemen!
Please note that all new members must attend the mandatory range and safety orientation before using the range. You are not a fully qualified member until you attend the orientation.
Also, don't forget that all new members are entitled to shoot in one club match per shooting discipline free of charge. Look over that match schedule, and come out and experience the fun of competition shooting.

Work Day Set for February 9
The next range work day is scheduled for Saturday, February 8, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Some of the things we'll be doing include:

· Pick up trash.
· Remove weeds.
· Paint benches and gun racks.
· Apply water seal to structures.
· Install posts at shooting positions on shotgun range.
· Improve drainage on action range.
· Paint range gate.
· Plant 1,000 pine tree seedlings.
· Look at changing road location for new entrance.

We're lucky to have such a nice range, and it's important that we keep it in good shape. Please try to join us; the more folks we have, the sooner we'll be done.
There was some discussion at the January club meeting to assess an annual fee against members who do not attend work days, or to give a membership discount to those who do show up. It was finally resolved to bring this up at the next club bylaws meeting.
And remember, there's no need to wait for an official work day to do range maintenance. If you see something that needs to be done, and you have the time and the means to handle it, go right ahead. The range belongs to all of us, and it's up to all of us to keep it in tip-top shape.

Match Directors: Keep the Gate Unlocked
Directors, when you get to the range for a match, please take the lock off of the gate and keep it with you until the match is over. We've been having a problem with folks locking the gate behind them on match days. Matches are open to the public, and it's kind of hard for them to attend when the gate is locked since they don't have keys to the range!

Web Site Address Renewed
The club approved a motion to renew our registration of the Benton Gun Club website address (www.bentongunclub.org) at a cost of $75 for three years.
